How to arrive in wintertime
Skiing (experienced skiers):
Ascend to Indren via the lift system. From Indren you follow the
ski-track (marked by orange posts) through "Canalino dell'Aquila"
to arrive on a large flat plateau. At the end you will find Orestes
Hütte.
Ski-touring and snowshoes:
Ascend with the lift to Gabiet, walk on the slope staying on the side
until a large flat plateau (pole 8). Cross the slope and
follow the single track marked by orange poles up to the hut.
At most times this track is hard and firm, maintained by a snowcat.
Unfavourable weather and snow conditions may be encountered
in this region. As a precautionary measure we recommend the
carrying of basic off-pist equipment such as ARVA, shovel and probe.
